You know, when we’re quiet, we’re working hard on major changes. Something exciting is happening behind the scenes at Lake Apparel. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve partnered with a new manufacturer to bring you apparel that’s not only better for your everyday adventures but also better for the planet.
We decided to make a switch to premium organic cotton blanks made from non-GMO seeds and grown without harmful pesticides. This change isn’t just about upgrading your favorite lake tees and sweatshirts. It’s about staying true to what matters most—nature, community, and the values that will build this brand in the first place.
For the past few months, we tested the durability, washability, color resistance, and overall quality of new apparel blanks. The results were outstanding! Every new piece coming to our store will be 100% certified organic cotton that’s Fair-Trade and OEKO-TEX® certified, meaning it’s safer for you, the growers, and the ecosystems we all love.
But we didn’t stop there. Every bit of polyester in our garments will be made from 100% recycled PET bottles. Plastic bottles are getting a second life as soft, durable apparel perfect for breezy mornings on the dock, late-night bonfires, and everything in between.
And there’s more: we’re also saying goodbye to traditional screen printing.
We’re replacing our old print systems with commercial DTG (direct-to-garment) printers that use water-based, no-VOC inks. These new systems dramatically reduce chemical use and completely eliminate ink waste from unused leftovers. That means no more washing out screens, no harsh solvents, emulsions, and no excess ink being tossed. Just clean, vibrant prints that are better for your skin—and way better for the environment.
This shift is a big step forward, and it’s one we’re incredibly proud of. You deserve to wear something that reflects your love for the outdoors, your respect for the water, and your commitment to conscious living. And we’re here to make that happen, one shirt, hoodie, and patch at a time. So the next time you throw on your favorite Lake Apparel tee, know this: it’s designed for your corner of the lake, and it’s made with the planet in mind.
Thanks for being part of this journey. Let’s keep building something beautiful—together.
